I have gotten the question a couple of different times as to why I decided on the alias Punk-Coder for running my work with ALM and some of my side projects. It’s kind of hard to explain, but I will try. With punk music the heart of everything lies with the music. Talk is cheap and unless you are in it for the music there really isn’t a place. Punk is about anarchism in it’s purest form. If you don’t like something that’s being done, stand up against it. If you do like the way that someone has done something, then DiY. At then end of the day I am here to explain to you what worked for me and what I think will work for you. If you disagree you are more than welcome to do so, but frankly I don’t care. I am attempting to give back a little bit of the knowledge that I have managed to acquire, hopefully someone finds that useful.
The most important thing that you can learn in life it how to observe the people who came before you and figure out what they did right and what they failed at. If you want to play in a band: pick up and instrument and learn a song. Watch other guitarists and figure out what they do. Do your best to imitate the best, fuck what’s unimportant, and always be humble. If you think because you can play guitar that your hot shit, your not. If you think
I don’t have a problem with the use of information found on this site, but attribute it correctly. No one likes a poser.
Information should be free and shared, the people who share that information are the leaders of the new world, those how try to contain it are relics of the old guard. Don’t expect any help from me.
Respect is earned, do your shit right and you earn it, screw up and you loose it. No suit changes that, talk is cheap and in this day and age no one has time for that. If your selling something, I don’t care. If I want it I’ll come to you. Never trust someone who doesn’t have a legitimate reason to be in a suit. Influence is a currency that doesn’t matter around here.
